Vikings and Ellison Limited (VEL) was established in 1976 in Hong Kong by Mr. H.H. Kwan. VEL has featured prominently in supplying Low Voltage Switchboards, Motor Control Centre Cubicles, Busbar Risers and Busbar Chambers for the Government Buildings, Low Cost Housings, Pumping Stations and Commercial & Tenant Buildings of local market, Macau as well as Mainland China which are manufactured and assembled in Hong Kong under the license from GEORGE ELLISON LIMITED (England).
VEL has long been approved by Hong Kong Government as a specialist contractor in switchboard manufacturing and also has won ISO9001 certification at its first attempt to pass the rigorous and prestigious quality assurance test from HKQAA. The scope of work includes design, fabrication, assembly, testing & commissioning, after-sales servicing and maintenance.
VEL is the pioneer to manufacture the ASTA type-tested switchboards in Hong Kong and these switchboards are designed to comply with BS, BSEN & IEC standards. The company has supplied and installed a wide variety of custom-designed switchboards to some major clients for key areas in Hong Kong. These have included the Airport Authority, the Mass Transit Railway Corporation, the Hong Kong Housing Authority, Architectural Services Department and Electrical & Mechanical Services Department.
